Questions – Answers about visits to the PSE Center in Phnom Penh

Everything you need to know about the visits at PSE!

  • Is it possible to participate in activities with the children?

The PSE Center is a school, which means that we cannot disrupt the class or change the school timetable to organize activities. During the course, it is impossible to visit the rooms but you will be able to see the students during break times.

Moreover, you can always talk with our vocational trainees during your lunch time at the training restaurant, the Lotus Blanc, or at the training beauty salon.

  • Can I stay at PSE after my visit?

The center is only open for visits, lunch or a moment at the beauty salon. Immersive or short-term stays in the center are not possible. In addition, it is strictly forbidden to walk around the center without a guide.

  • Can I book nights at your Lotus Blanc training hotel?

Our training hotel is no longer open to external visitors. Only people coming to Cambodia on a mission for PSE can book the hotel.

  • Can I meet Marie-France des Pallières, founder of the NGO?

It is not possible to meet Marie-France. Many visitors are welcomed at PSE each week and it is therefore impossible for her to find time to meet them all.

  • How should I dress for the visit?

We kindly ask all visitors to cover their knees and shoulders with appropriate outfit. As for temples, pagodas or museums, the same rules apply for schools.

  • Can I bring items or products for the beneficiaries?

You can give your donations to the PSE Welcome Center, but not directly to the children. Our social team will then distribute these items fairly and according to the children’s need. Thank you so much!

Here is the list of items we always need:
Second-hand products: clothing (kids / adults), games, stuffed animals, childcare equipment, electronic equipment, school material, books in English (for children or related to our professional trainings)
New products: school material purchased in Cambodia (IBC stores). It is easy to find everything directly on site, in Phnom Penh.

  • How can I support Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE)?

Occasional or short-term volunteering is not possible at PSE. However, we have created volunteer programs in order to support, and not replace, our local Khmer team over the long-term: 1 month (summer/winter camps), 6 months (solidarity missions), 1 year and more (VSI contract).

Other types of support are possible:  sponsorship, donation, partnership, recruitment of our students…
